New Services Action for OS X: Lookup on Amazon

In: News

If you’re like me, you’re always looking up prices on Amazon. I got tired of the whole lookup process:

1) copying whatever I was interested in (product name, ISBN, whatever)

2) opening a new browser tab

3) surfing over to Amazon

4) pasting in the thing I was looking for and pressing return

The solution?

I wrote an Automator action (which in Snow Leopard ) gets installed as a Service.

Translation in English: it means you can highlight text, right-click, select “Lookup on Amazon” and BOOM! it opens a new browser and searches on Amazon for you.

Download it here. After downloading, unzip it, then double-click on the ‘Lookup on Amazon’ workflow (this will open the ‘Automator’ program). From the ‘File’ menu, select ‘Save As’, then click ‘Ok’ when you see the ‘Save Service As’ dialog box.

And, yes, I’m lazy.
